Frequently Asked Questions

Here are a few of the more common questions we are frequently asked by those who make donations or become volunteers and sponsors.
1Are Donations to GAPA tax deductible?
  • In February 2005 GAPA was approved as a public benefit organization (PBO No 930003634) and donations to the organization are exempt from donations tax in terms of section 56(1)(h) of the Act.  NPO No 019-642.
  • Bequests are also exempt from payment of estate duty in terms of the Estate Duty Act, 45 of 1955.
2 How do you make sure my donation is spent wisely?
GAPA spending is dictated by the senior’s vision for the organisation. The management team works together to prudently allocate funds to various projects and this spending is monitored by the board of directors. We are audited annually by an external firm and detailed financial reports can be shared upon request. We appreciate the donations we receive and always endeavour to live up to the trust partners have put in us.
3What payment methods do you accept?
We use the secure YOCO online payment processor to accept all Credit Card donations safely via our website. You can use MasterCard, VISA and AMEX. Read about YOCO here. If you wish to pay via a South African Bank EFT transaction, please make sure to click the appropriate button at the bottom of the Donation form. We accept donations in ZAR (South African Rands).
